Anti-lock brakes keep you in control of the vehicle by detecting differences in wheel speed and rapidly pulsing the brakes until the wheels are all turning at the same speed.

They are used to detect pedestrians and help drivers see more clearly in poor road conditions such as darkness, fog, sun glare, or haze.

One example is car manufacturer.

If so, it applies braking to balance traction needs, especially when accelerating or hill climbing when one of your wheels has reduced traction.
